State Certification

The International School of Healing Arts has received institutional and course approvals from the state of California through the Bureau for Private Post Secondary and Vocational Education (BPPVE). We are in compliance with state standards to operate our school. Our programs are recognized as State Certified Occupational Titles, and State Certified Vocational Training. The Massage Technician, Zen-Touch™ Technician, Zen-Touch™ Practitioner, Massage Practitioner, and Holistic Health Practitioner programs meet or exceed San Diego massage licensing requirements. The Whole Foods Nutritional Counselor and Mind Body Hypnotherapist certifications provide students with practical training in two of the fastest growing fields of holistic health.

Other Approvals/Credentials

We have approvals from the American Board of Hypnotherapy, and Vocational Rehabilitation. The International School of Healing Arts is also approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider under category A. Students of Seymour Koblin’s Zen-Touch™ Practitioner program are eligible for national certification with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). We are authorized to enroll and accept M-1 status non-immigrant students. We are approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number 6436 for 30 contact hours and have approval through the Department of Veterans Affairs to train veterans and eligible persons.

Affiliations

Due to the wide variety of course options we offer, we have chosen to affiliate with the most versatile national organizations in the country — the ABMP and AOBTA. We have decided to avoid affiliation with the AMTA (a long-established massage organization) as their guidelines would limit our curriculum parameters and course options. Students who wish to join the AMTA or any national organization may do so by taking entrance exams, which all our standards of education easily comply with and prepare them for. The quality education provided at the International School of Healing Arts allows students to practice anywhere they choose.

Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals

Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) is a membership organization serving the massage, bodywork, somatic and esthetic professions. ABMP competes effectively for members by providing the best value and most responsive, knowledgeable service. Our business philosophy is summed up by our credo: "expect more"

National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine

It is a considerable professional achievement to earn the designation “Diplomate in Acupuncture (NCCAOM).” NCCAOM Certification indicates to employers, patients, and peers that one has met national standards for the safe and competent practice of acupuncture as defined by the profession. National board certification in acupuncture has been the mark of excellence in acupuncture since the inception of the Commission.
